Be a Firefighter for a Day!

On behalf of the Oceanside Fire Department, Lee and Associates, the Veterans Association of North County (VANC) and friends, we invite you to be our guest on March 15th, 2019.


Details are as follows:

- Date & Time: Friday, 15 March, 8am - 1:30pm
- Address: Oceanside Fire Department Training Center, 110 Jones Road, Oceanside, CA
- Dress: comfortably, jeans, tshirts or athletic wear & sneakers
- A continental breakfast and lunch will be served

The Oceanside Fire Department and friends are collectively spear heading this project that aims to connect local business leaders with local Service Members transitioning from active duty into the civilian workforce. This intimate, small group, networking opportunity is hosted by the Oceanside Fire Department leading participants through a simulated firefighter training session. The day commences with a formal swearing in ceremony, brief introduction to the fire fighting industry and then participants are encouraged to “gear up” and go through a fireless, but very real, firefighting exercise, in full firefighter dress, including oxygen masks.  Participates are empowered and will make quick decisions, as a team, to “save lives”. 

The rest of the day includes a communication and technology portion and lunch.  During lunch, the group will review lessons learned and have a small group discussion about employment opportunities and/or employment “leads”.  The day is structured to deepen relationships between our military and local emergency service leaders. The program is designed to assist you quickly secure employment after your military service.
